Cuba settlement applicants can have documents scanned at the Embassy
24 Oct 2026
If you are applying for settlement in Cuba, the way you send your documents has changed. UKVI updated its Cuba visa guidance on 23 October 2026.
The change note says: "documents no longer need to be submitted by post, instead these documents are now scanned at the Embassy." The update removed the old section on settlement applications from the page.
The page does not say which settlement routes this covers, so do not assume it applies only to family applicants. The page also does not give any new fees or deadlines.
The how-to-apply page says settlement applicants do not need to bring supporting documents to the visa application centre. If you are applying, read that page again before you book. Follow the current steps for the visa application centre at the British Embassy in Havana.
