Form RR update clarifies fees for certificate corrections

If you became a British citizen through naturalisation or registration after holding ILR, and you later spot a mistake on your certificate, you'll normally use Form RR to get it corrected. GOV.UK updated the guidance for this form on 4 September 2026.
The update changed question 2.1 on the form to make clear that an applicant "may be required to pay a fee" to correct their certificate. That point wasn't spelled out as clearly before. The guidance page doesn't state an exact fee amount, so don't assume the correction is free or guess a price. Check the current form and guidance before you apply.
