Home Office publishes updated eVisa account and error correction data
02 Jul 2026
The Home Office published updated eVisa statistics on 1 July 2026, covering UKVI account creation up to May 2026 and a new breakdown of eVisa error correction volumes submitted through the online webform.
The account creation figures show 283,580 UKVI accounts were created in May 2026, based on data extracted on 18 June 2026. That is up sharply from 64,189 accounts in January 2026, continuing the upward trend as more visa holders move from physical documents to digital immigration status. The publication covers monthly registration figures from March 2024 onwards.
The newly published error correction data provides reassurance to anyone who has found a mistake on their eVisa. According to the GOV.UK page, corrected errors since September 2025 represent less than 1% of all active eVisas. For those who do experience a problem, "UKVI aims to fix most issues within 5 working days. If the issue is complex, it can take up to 15 working days." The types of errors covered include personal details, visa dates, contact information, share codes, and sponsor licence numbers. The page also notes that "in many instances, an error will relate to a minor issue that does not have a material impact on users."
If your eVisa shows incorrect information, such as a wrong name, date of birth, or visa end date, submit a correction request through the Home Office online webform. Do not wait: an uncorrected error could cause problems when you travel, apply to rent a property, or prove your right to work.
