Home Office updates eVisa account and error correction data

02 Oct 2026

If you hold an eVisa, this update doesn't change any rules, but it's a useful check on how the digital system is running. The Home Office updated two data sets on 30 September 2026: the number of UKVI accounts created to access an eVisa, and how many people have had errors corrected through the online webform.

The account data shows August 2026, the most recent full month on record, with 293,188 new UKVI account registrations. You need a UKVI account to view and share your eVisa, so if you still haven't set yours up, this is a sign that most people in your position already have.

On errors, the Home Office says the total corrected since September 2025 "represents less than 1% of all live eVisas," with monthly correction volumes ranging from a high of 8,198 in January 2026 down to 5,007 in August 2026. If your eVisa has a mistake, for example a wrong name spelling or date of birth, you can fix it through the same online correction webform, but most people won't need to.

What to do: if you don't have a UKVI account yet, set one up so you can prove your status for work, renting and travel. If you spot an error on your own eVisa record, use the online correction webform rather than leaving it, since a mismatch can cause problems at right to work or right to rent checks.
