Immigration Salary List updated with removal dates, care roles stay longer

If you're on the Health and Care Worker visa or a Skilled Worker visa in a listed occupation, this update affects how long your job qualifies for a lower salary threshold. GOV.UK updated the Immigration Rules Appendix Immigration Salary List page on 3 August 2026.
Most occupations on the list, including residential and domiciliary care managers (SOC 1232) and nursing auxiliaries and assistants (SOC 6131), are set to leave the list on 31 December 2026. But two care roles get longer: care workers and home carers (SOC 6135) and senior care workers (SOC 6136) stay on the list until 22 July 2028. For these two codes, the guidance notes that outside England, jobs "are only eligible in this SOC 2020 occupation code where the sponsor holds registration with the Care Quality Commission."
If your job is on this list, the removal date matters because it affects whether you can keep using the lower salary threshold when you extend or switch visas. Check your occupation code against the list now, and if your removal date is approaching, talk to your employer about your options well before it applies.
