June 2026 Visa Data Shows Further Falls in Work and Family Applications

10 Jul 2026

If you are on a Skilled Worker, Health and Care Worker, or family visa, new official statistics published on 9 July 2026 show how demand on your route has changed over the past year.

The Home Office's monthly entry clearance visa statistics for the year ending June 2026 report 8,500 main applicant applications on the Health and Care Worker route, a 65% fall from the year ending June 2025. Skilled Worker main applicant applications fell to 30,400, a 39% decrease over the same period. Family visa applications came to 69,300, which is 9% fewer than the 76,000 recorded in the year ending June 2025.

These figures cover applications made, not decisions or grants, so they reflect how many people are applying rather than how many are being approved. The falls follow a series of salary, sponsorship, and eligibility changes to these routes over the past year.

If you are planning to apply on one of these routes, these numbers do not change the rules that apply to your case, but they are a useful sign of how busy, or quiet, your route currently is. Always check the current Immigration Rules for your route rather than relying on application volumes to judge your own chances.
