Praxis launches interactive guide to immigration advice and migrant support
18 Oct 2026
If you are living in the UK on any visa, or waiting for a decision on your status, there is a new free resource that may help. The charity Praxis has launched an interactive online version of *A Migrant's Guide*. EIN reported the launch on 16 October 2026.
This is a support resource, not a change to the immigration rules. Nothing in your visa conditions changes because of it.
The guide helps you find services and support before and after you get immigration status. It has a "Resources" section with topics like finding immigration advisers, understanding immigration status and restrictions on access to public funds, applying for Universal Credit, opening a bank account and registering with a GP. It also has checklists, advice from people who have been through the system, and a directory of organisations and support services. The guide says it is "co-produced by people who have lived experience" of the UK immigration system.
The site is available in English, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi/Dari, Pashto and Spanish. If you need to find an immigration adviser or want to understand what your status means for support, it is worth a look. Always check official GOV.UK guidance for the rules that apply to your own visa.
