Sponsor duties guidance gets an accessible version
03 Sep 2026
If your visa depends on a licensed employer, this update is about the rulebook your sponsor has to follow. GOV.UK added an accessible HTML version of its "Workers and Temporary Workers: guidance for sponsors, part 3: sponsor duties and compliance" document on 2 September 2026. The guidance itself hasn't changed in substance, it's the same version 08/26 that was published on 28 August 2026, replacing version 05/26 from 20 May 2026.
This guidance sets out what your employer must do to keep their sponsor licence, including reporting duties and what happens if they breach the rules. Sponsor licence problems can directly affect sponsored workers, including anyone working toward settlement, so it's worth being aware of what your employer is required to do even if you don't read the full document yourself.
There's nothing you need to act on here. This is a formatting update, not a rule change, but if you or someone helping you relies on a screen reader, the new accessible version makes the guidance easier to read.
