Sponsor guidance updated for eVisas as vignettes and BRPs end

If you're on a Skilled Worker or other sponsored visa, your employer's onboarding process may look different now. The Home Office updated Appendix D, the sponsor guidance on keep records for sponsorship, on 3 August 2026 (version 08/26).
The guidance confirms the government "stopped issuing vignettes to all applicants granted entry clearance from 1 July 2026", and that "biometric residence permits are no longer issued or valid." Instead, if you only have an eVisa without a vignette, your entry stamp will normally go on a blank page in your passport or travel document, and your sponsor "must make and retain a copy of the page containing the stamp."
This is a sponsor duty change rather than something you need to apply for, but it affects how your employer checks and records your right to work. If you're starting a new sponsored job or renewing, make sure your employer has your correct eVisa details and a copy of your passport entry stamp on file, and check your own eVisa account shows your current status correctly.
