Sponsor register updated again on 4 September 2026
06 Sep 2026
If you're on a Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa, your permission to stay depends on your employer holding a valid sponsor licence. GOV.UK updated the register of licensed sponsors again on 4 September 2026, with the change note simply reading "Updated register of licensed sponsors."
This register changes often, sometimes several times a week, as employers gain licences, lose them, or have them suspended. An update on its own isn't a cause for alarm, but it's a reminder to check the register yourself rather than assuming your employer's status hasn't moved since you last looked.
What to do: search the register for your employer's name and confirm they still hold an active licence covering your route, whether that's Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker. If your employer has dropped off the list or their licence has been downgraded or suspended, your permission to stay could be at risk, so get advice quickly.
