Sponsor register updated, check if your employer is still licensed

03 Sep 2026

If you're on a Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa, your right to stay depends on your employer holding a valid sponsor licence. GOV.UK updated its register of licensed sponsors on 2 September 2026, and the update note simply confirms this is a routine refresh of the list.

The register is a downloadable file listing every organisation currently licensed to sponsor workers on the Worker and Temporary Worker routes, along with their sponsorship category and rating. GOV.UK updates it frequently, often multiple times a week, so it's worth checking again if you haven't looked recently, especially if you've heard anything about your employer's compliance history.

If your employer's licence is suspended or revoked, it can put your visa at risk, so it's worth a habit to check the register every so often rather than assuming nothing has changed. You can download the current list and search for your employer's name to confirm their status.
