Sponsor register updated, check your employer is still licensed

09 Sep 2026

If you are on a Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa, your right to stay depends on your employer keeping a valid sponsor licence. GOV.UK updated its Register of Licensed Sponsors for Workers on 8 September 2026, so it is a good moment to check your employer is still listed.

The register is a public document that "lists Worker and Temporary Worker sponsors," including the category of worker each one is licensed to sponsor and their current sponsorship rating. It is refreshed regularly, and this is simply the latest update.

Search the register for your employer's name. Confirm they are still shown as an A-rated (or licensed) sponsor for the route you are on, such as Skilled Worker. If your employer's licence has been suspended or revoked, or they no longer appear on the list, contact them straight away and consider getting immigration advice, since your visa conditions are tied to that sponsorship.

This update alone does not change any visa rules or fees. It is a routine data refresh, but checking the register from time to time costs nothing and can flag a problem with your sponsorship early.
