UKVI publishes approved TB testing guidance for Brazil

24 Oct 2026

If you need a TB test for a UK visa and you are in Brazil, UKVI has published guidance on where to get tested. GOV.UK shows it was published on 23 October 2026.

The guidance names one clinic, SERPED in Porto Alegre, RS. It lists the fee as "£220 GBP (1,500 BRL)". The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. To book, use the clinic's website to choose a date and time. Bring valid photo ID such as a passport, a photocopy of it, and the test fee.

Not everyone needs a test. The main page says: "You'll need to have a TB test if you're coming to the UK for more than 6 months and either:" and then sets out conditions about where you have lived. The list of countries is in Appendix T of the Immigration Rules. Check the GOV.UK TB testing guidance to see if the rules apply to you before you book.

Use only a clinic approved by UKVI for your visa application.
