UKVI updates approved English language test centre lists
28 Oct 2026
If you need an English test for a visa, settlement or citizenship, check the approved centre lists before you book. UKVI updated them on 26 October 2026. The update log says: "Updated the list of approved test centres in and outside the UK."
The GOV.UK page links to separate lists of approved tests and approved test centres, both in the UK and outside it. The centre lists carry a file date of 23.10.2026. The page does not say which centres were added or removed. So check the current list for your test and location.
The page says settlement (indefinite leave to remain) and citizenship need a speaking and listening test only. Skilled Worker, Health and Care Worker and Scale-up Worker need a reading, writing, speaking and listening test. The level you need depends on your route, so check the guidance for your route.
Book only with a centre on the current list. A test taken somewhere that is not approved may not count for your application.
