Worker and Temporary Worker Sponsor Register Updated

30 Jul 2026

If you hold a Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa, your right to work depends on your employer holding a valid sponsor licence. GOV.UK updated the official register of Worker and Temporary Worker sponsors on 29 July 2026. The publication describes itself as a document that "lists Worker and Temporary Worker sponsors" and "includes information about the category of workers they're licensed to sponsor and their sponsorship rating."

Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker visas both fall under the Worker route, so employers sponsoring people on those visas are the ones listed in this register. The register is published as a downloadable file and is refreshed periodically as sponsor licences are granted, change rating, or are removed.

A sponsor's status on this list is not fixed. Licences can be suspended or revoked between updates for reasons unrelated to any individual worker, which is why the register is refreshed regularly rather than being a one-off snapshot. If your visa depends on a specific employer's sponsor licence, it is useful to know that this list exists and is kept current.
