Home Office refreshes the licensed worker sponsor register
17 Sep 2026
If you're on a Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visa, your right to stay in the UK depends on your employer holding a valid sponsor licence. On 16 September 2026, the Home Office updated the GOV.UK register of licensed sponsors, the official list of every UK employer approved to sponsor workers. The page's own update note simply says "Updated register of licensed sponsors."
This register changes often, sometimes several times a week, as employers are added, suspended, or removed. If your sponsor's licence is revoked or downgraded while you're working for them, it can put your visa status at risk, so it's worth knowing the register exists and checking it from time to time, not just when something goes wrong.
Search the register for your employer's name to confirm they still hold a valid licence for your visa route. If you can't find them, or their listing looks different from before, raise it with your employer's HR or immigration team as soon as possible.
